A four-year-old Anaheim girl was struck and killed by a minivan driven by her mother in an apartment complex parking lot, according to a news report.
Anaheim police said that Jasmina Serdaru, who turned four in August, was apparently behind the van when her mother backed into her. Investigators do not believe the mother was aware of the child’s location near the vehicle at the time of the accident, saying that the pair had gone to the van to retrieve some items.
The girl was taken by ambulance to a nearby trauma center, where she was pronounced dead. Anaheim police said that the incident is still under investigations and no arrests have been made yet.
