A 62-year-old employee at the Bumble Bee Seafoods processing plant in Santa Fe Springs has been killed in an industrial accident, according to a news report.
Police reports said that Jose Melena, 62, was found in an industrial steam cooker oven and was pronounced dead at the scene. He had worked at the plant for six years. Investigators said it was not clear how Melena got into the oven; the investigation has been turned over to Cal-OSHA and could take up to six months to complete.
