The driver of an SUV that crashed into a Costa Mesa home has been arrested on suspicion of DUI, according to a news report.
Costa Mesa police said that Lawrence Smith, 26, of Costa Mesa, drove his SUV into a home in the 1600 block of Myrtlewood Street, narrowly missing a married couple and their child inside the home. The woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment of several cuts she suffered from debris.
Smith and his passenger were not injured in the incident; he was booked on suspicion of driving under the influence.
