On Tuesday, August 9, 2011, Edward Susolik will present “Insurance Issues in Intellectual Property Litigation” to corporate and in-house counsel from Orange County. The presentation is being sponsored by the Corporate Counsel Section of the Orange County Bar Association, and will take place at noon at the Pacific Club in Newport Beach, California.
Mr. Susolik will discuss and analyze insurance issues that arise in intellectual property litigation. The topics to be covered include:
- Advertising injury coverage for intellectual property torts
- The critical importance of early tender of claims
- The duty to defend, the most powerful concept in insurance law
- Strategies for maximizing insurance proceeds, including settlement and mediation
- The plaintiff’s perspective: insurance issues
- Action steps and strategies when the insurance company denies coverage
