An 11-year-old girl has been seriously injured after she was hit by a car near a Perris elementary school, according to a news report.
The California Highway Patrol said that the unidentified girl is a student at Sierra Vista Elementary School in Perris. She was walking on a sidewalk on the south side of Walnut Avenue near Sherman Road and was attempting to cross the street when she was hit. She was taken to Riverside County Regional Medical Center in Moreno Valley in serious condition.
The driver of the vehicle was not licensed; the vehicle was towed from the scene and an investigation is underway.
