A man is in critical condition after he was struck by a car while trying to pick up a cardboard box on Garden Grove Boulevard in Westminster, according to a news report.
Garden Grove police say the man got out of his pickup truck to pick up a cardboard box in the No. 2 lane of eastbound Garden Grove Boulevard and was struck by a man driving east in the same lane. The pedestrian was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange with critical injuries, including a possible skull fracture and a broken leg.
The driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian was not injured.
