A 63-year-old man in a wheelchair has died after he was hit by a car involved in a chain-reaction crash in Stanton.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Department said that Arnold Pierce was in his wheelchair on a sidewalk at Beach Boulevard and Chapman Avenue in Stanton when he was hit by a car that was involved in a two-car crash. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities said that the crash occurred when an Acura and a Nissan Murano traveling south on Beach Boulevard collided. The Acura lost control, jumped the curb and ran over Pierce.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
