An unidentified 57-year-old man has been seriously injured after he was hit by a semi-truck while riding his bicycle in Santa Ana.
According to the Santa Ana Police Department, the bicyclist was riding east on First Street when he was hit by the semi-truck near Euclid Street. The bicyclist was trapped under the vehicle until Orange County Fire Authority rescuers arrived. He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
The 56-year-old male truck driver remained at the scene. Police said they do not believe alcohol or drugs were involved in the accident. The investigation is ongoing.
