A motorcyclist and his passenger were killed when the motorcycle they were on left Silverado Canyon Road and crashed down a dirt embankment into some trees, according to a news report.
Donn Lavigne, 58, and an unnamed female passenger were pronounced dead at the scene after they were ejected from their motorcycle while driving on Silverado Canyon Road just north of Williams Canyon Road. Witnesses told the California Highway Patrol that the motorcycle left the road, went down a dirt embankment and crashed into several trees, ejecting Lavigne and his passenger.
The report said it is unknown why the motorcycle left the road; the CHP is investigating.
