A woman and her teenage daughter were seriously injured after their car collided with another vehicle going the wrong way on I-17 in Phoenix, according to a news report.
Authorities said that the victims were in the southbound HOV lane of I-17 at Dixleta Drive when their vehicle was hit head-on by a Jeep Wrangler going the wrong way. Both victims were taken to John C. Lincoln Hospital with possible life-threatening injuries.
The wrong-way driver – Johnny Bonnie, 41, of Phoenix — suffered minor injuries and is suspected of driving while impaired.
