A woman attending a memorial service in Anaheim for a friend who died in a traffic accident was seriously injured after she was struck by an SUV.
According to Anaheim police, the unidentified woman in her 40s was visiting the memorial site of a friend killed in a motorcycle accident several weeks ago in the 900 block of N. Euclid Street. She was hit by a Chevrolet Suburban SUV that jumped the curb and hit a light pole and a parked car. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
No one else was injured in the incident; the driver and a passenger fled the scene after the accident and are believed to be juveniles.
